Support the Abington Art Center
Abington Art Center is always looking for volunteers, for anything from working with the gallery shop to helping with special events. Find out more on their website.
Raising environtmental awareness through the arts is the focus of the Sculpture Park at Abington Art Center, set among the rolling lawns of an elegant manor house. The semi-permanent sculpture includes "Scale" a woodland sculpture built from 22,000 pounds of newspaper by New York artist Steven Siegel. Other ephemeral pieces suggest the changing of the seasons, as well as patterns of decay and rebirth in nature.
Art lovers aren’t the only ones drawn to this outdoor gallery. Birdwatchers and picnickers also enjoy the grounds, while children are invited to participate in a range of hands-on activities.
COME PREPARED
No dogs allowed. Be aware that the park is undergoing a three-year project to finish several paths, which will traverse the entire 27-acre site.
DON'T MISS
Starting in late June, the center runs a summer concert series every Thursday evening; and there's a Kid’s Day Festival and Concert on the first Thursday in August.
