The main advocacy organization for bicycling in the five-county area, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is a network of cyclists and advocates working to make the city and region more cycling friendy. The group teaches adults and students how to ride safely on city streets, publishes a detailed bike map for both the city and the surrounding counties and intorduces incoming college students to Philadelphia cycling through a series of night rides on favorite routes.
One of the coalition's most significant efforts helped create the Schuylkill River trail, a 13-mile riverfront path linking Philadelphia to Valley Forge.
