You might expect the sandy turf on a visit to the shore but to find it this far inland is very unusual. Some of Pennnsylvania’s rare animal habitats and plant species are found in Delhass Woods, which has a network of trails open for walking, hiking or running.

The Silver Lake Nature Center offers children’s activities as well as guided walks, which are a favorite among birdwatchers and nature photographers. You might also find families here with a picnic.
