Outsider Tip
Railside (tailgate) parking is available for a premium, or you can park in the lot and carry your picnic in. It's a good idea to arrive early, especially if you're parking in the infield.
Step up to the rails and you’ll get close enough to feel the breath of these tremendous horses as they gallop over the long, circuitous course. Obstacles like thick stone fences and wide water ponds challenge the nerves and skills of both horse and rider.
Reserve a spot early and bring a tailgate picnic to the Radnor Hunt, a historic steeplechase event now in its 77th year. The day features six individual races with purses that total more than $200,000.
Be sure to bring your fanciest hat as well as your champagne.
COME PREPARED
You must buy your tickets and parking passes by May 14th, since there will be no admissions sold on race day.
DON'T MISS
Become a race sponsor and you'll be eligible to attend the Wildflower Ball, a black-tie dinner held the Friday before the race. It's open to Radnor Hunt members, sponsors and racing fans.
