Outsider Tip
Bring your fishing rod and license to catch trout in April and May when the Neshaminy Creek is freshly stocked with trout.
Volunteer
Volunteers are always needed to help out with education programs or monitoring the Bluebird Trail.
Any time of year is ideal for playing in Tyler State Park. During the warmer months, pack lunch and head to one of Tyler’s seven picnic areas, each with its own different recreational activities. Cast your reel from the banks of Neshaminy Creek or your canoe to catch dinner. No canoe? You can rent one during the summer months. Or bring a frisbee and try your hand on the 27-hole disc golf course. And there's plenty of wildlife for the naturalists among you.
When cold weather sets in, pull out your sled, lace up your ice skates or don your cross country skis and explore miles of trails.
COME PREPARED
Non-motorboats need either a launching/mooring permit from Pennsylvania State Parks or a registration/launching permit from Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Motorboats (electric only) require current registration. For more information, visit the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
DON'T MISS
The Spring State Craft Festival in April or the Fall State Craft Festival in October. Both feature the works of Pennsylvania artisans.
