Get ready for a deliciously gluten-free cook-off!
On September 24, 2008, the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) will celebrate its 5th Anniversary at the Wachovia Center with Appetite for Awareness, a great celebration of Philadelphia's commitment to gluten-free cuisine.
The event will feature chefs from more than 30 of Philadelphia’s best restaurants — including James, Lolita and Amada — in a delicious display of the chefs' gluten-free cooking skills.
The event will feature music, wine, auctions, raffles and gluten-free food and beer — and don't miss the opportunity to skate on the ice the Flyers call home.
The NFCA
The NFCA intends to sustain the involvement of the event's participating restaurants by working with them to develop an alternative gluten-free menu and have their kitchens certified by the NFCA’s gluten-free kitchen protocol training program (GREAT).
The event and sustained participation of Philadelphia’s most dynamic and cutting-edge chefs is intended to establish Philadelphia as the leading gluten-free and Celiac-friendly city in the U.S. and will serve as a template for other cities around the country.
