Outsider Tip
Philadelphia Inline Town Watch is the first organization of its kind in the nation, and has been featured on A Current Affair, ABC Evening News and in The Associated Press.
You’ll cover up to 15 miles of Philadelphia’s most inviting neighborhoods on this twice-weekly skate, which starts like clockwork every Tuesday and Sunday, weather permitting, from the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Be prepared for socializing, since this group can number up to 100 skaters.
Everyone’s welcome to come along, although road skating isn’t for total novices, so some experience is required. Those who want to get accustomed to city skating may want to show up for one of the group’s “recreational skates,” held the first Sunday of every month, after the regular skate.
COME PREPARED
There is no fee to take part in the regular skates, but regular skaters are encouraged to become a member.
DON'T MISS
Freedom Skate, held in June, brings in more than 300 skaters from all areas of the country.
